II Ceremony of St. Petersburg Open Tennis Awards

On 31 October there was held the II Award Ceremony of St. Petersburg Open 2009 within the framework of the XV St. Petersburg Open tournament and "Grand Collection: dinner with a star" project. The Award Ceremony was held like the year before at the Krysha Ballroom of the Grand Hotel Europe.

The main prize - award "for contribution to the world tennis" went to the Russian player Marat Safin. This is Marat's second prize at this tournament. According to the vote results at the official website of St. Petersburg Open Safin was acknowledged the "Favourite Player of St. Petersburg's audience".

Another prize, "Lucky player" was awarded to Igor Kunitsyn. The player was deeply touched by this attention and thanked the tournament organizers.

A special prize was given to this year's tour manager Miro Bratoev: he was awarded with "Honoured Tour Manager" prize.

The award founder - the tournament organizer St. Petersburg Open Company also gave prizes «For Loyalty to the Tournament" to St. Petersburg Open long-standing partners "Honka", "Ramec", Sport Express newspaper, and the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory. Megafon OJSC received a special prize "For Contribution to the Tournament Development".

After the award ceremony there was a charitable auction with the porcelain tigers painted by Igor Kunitsyn and Victor Hanescu as its lots. The porcelain figure painted by the Russian player was sold for 12 000 rubles and the Romanian's figure was sold for 10 000 rubles. All the funds were transferred to the "Warm Home" charitable fund.

Upon the completion of the official part there was a concert of "Bravo" band at the "Krysha" Ballroom. The musicians performed their hits as well as new songs.
